Hey Bud.. yeah I just got home from a stressfull job interview when I wrote
the last mail... I dont think I expressed myself in the way that you
deserved. Basicly projecting my emotions of frustration a bit LOUD. Hey we
talked about this last time we saw eachother. I see you as having a lot of
talent and i'd like you to develop it but I just see you getting so bogged
down with the technicalities.

The more I am learning the more I am realising how simple it should be. You
just have to start with good quality stuff.. bass line and kick are
primary.. they have to be crispy crisp. You can go a long way with that...
the hats have to ride above. Good samples... get ride of any low grade shit
you have floating about. thats why I want you to come over... I have some
stuff for you to take. I've got so much good stuff since getting back to
London... you wouldnt believe it. With these building bricks the end product
sounds so much better. rather than spending hours mixing naff kicks to try
to get a good one... or pissing about trying to find the one non wooly hat
sample in a field of fluffy cymbal sheep.

One you get that right the rest of the stuff you do will just sit on top
nicely (with a dab of e.q).

You know all in all the tune wasnt bad.. it just lacks definition and its
all a bit monophonic. But it rolls nicely and the breaks were in the right
place ensuring I didnt get bored even though its 8 mins long. It just needs
some ear baffling stuff to go with it.

So sorry if the previous e-mail was a bit blunt... we've been friends so
long and I forget this is a public forum. Come on over though and I wil show
you what I mean. Bring your samples.

Doof ;)-""
