[Dream] help, my "sound" pc stopped working... what to do?

Maybe you disconnected too much?  What about the Video adapter and 
monitor?  AFAIK, the boot sequence halts and makes a beep if it can't 
see a monitor or VGA adapter attached.  I'm not sure if the same still 
applies for the keyboard (it used to halt about that in the old 486 days...

Can you think of what event might have caused the problem - did the case 
get kicked or knocked, power cut or were you fiddling with any of the 
the hardware in the first place?  Just make sure everything's properly 
seated in their connectors - maybe it needs a good blow out with an air 
duster.

Are you using motherboard graphics or AGP/PCI graphics card?  If it's a 
card, particularly make sure the edge connector is dust free.
