Unfortunately, that seems to be true, though I guess I've been one of
the lucky ones (knock on wood!) I have the Audiophile firewire and an
Axiom 61 controller, which are both awesome products - provided that
they work. (For me it was pretty much plug and play, so I really
wonder why it is that so many experience problems) I recently started
using the trigger pads on the Axiom for a more "human" touch to my
drums, and they are fucking awesome! But I digress.

I think I'd definitely try to get XP as the OS. I have no plans of
upgrading to Vista myself yet. I need a very good reason (gettit?
Reason) before upgrading, cause right now I'm very happy with my
setup. And I still don't see any point in getting a Mac if you're
going to run Windows anyway.
