that... I got it about 8 times...

Well as Ra said... my m-audio audiophile worked forst time and has never

Not to start a flame war on mac vs pc.

You also need to pay attention to the OS. A new laptop might come with
Vista, which may be better to have but may not (yet) support all your
devices.

Would not really recommend M-Audio. Their drivers suck and the devices can
be quirky! With M_Audio, things either work the first time or they don't and
never will.
If you also want to play out, look at the DJ Indigo PCMCIA card
.worked
pretty well for me. I have now switched to the RME Hammerfall which I highly
recommend, but it is expensive and bulky...but has 8 ins/8 outs

Take care,
Ra

Ok. So. I need to get a laptop for making music. I'm
looking for your suggestions on what I should be
looking for, things I should make sure that it has,
etc. I have just a few requirements....

-It will be a PC laptop
-It will cost around $1400 USD
-It will run Cubase SX3 without problems

Also looking for soundcard recommendations...nothing
too expensive, nothing crappy, just something that
works well.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
