[Dream] Calibrating tempers?

Hey there, Phile.
Most of your post made perfect sense to me, though some of it was over
my head as well, i.e. there's some terminology I'm unfamiliar with,
and I think that was Doofus' main point. Doofy really is a nice guy -
he just happens to think with his hands on the keyboard, and that's
tantamount to teenage girls thinking with their mouths open. Stuff
just pours out. =)
Anyway: Back to the calibration question: I'm not interested in
tearing down my room to make it sonically perfect or anything. I just
figured that maybe my monitors produce a little too much bass, as a
couple of the fine laddies around here pointed out that my track
sounded a bit lacking in the low-end. This is something I've realised
myself later, by checking out the track on my hi-fi, and by using a
spectrum analyser, so calibrating (or whatever) my monitors would
simply be a quick way to eliminate having to test it on the hi-fi.
