[Dream] Recording automation in Live?

Well, I think I'm getting closer to figuring things out. I won't have
time to confirm it until Friday, but I realised that my problem was
that I approached things a bit too optimistically - assuming that the
controller would behave through Live just like it does when using
Reason only, with its Remote files. It turns out that for instance
turning one knob affected *two* parameters in a Reason device - and
only one of those was recorded - the one that didn't produce any
audible effect. I downloaded M-Audio's Enigma software, in order to
re-map the Axiom, and looked at Reason's MIDI implementation charts.
I've got the rotaries and faders working, but I'm still trying to
figure out how to make the buttons send a simple "on/off" message.
As for my BCR2000, I'm still clueless. I've downloaded a firmware
update and mapping editor similar to Enigma, so I'll keep my fingers
crossed. I really prefer its knobs over the Axiom's, so I hope I can
get it to work.
BTW, setting up e.g. the transport buttons on the Axiom
(play/stop/rew/rec) to work with Live was easy as pie. Simply activate
edit MIDI mode, click the parameter you want to control, and move/push
the appropriate control on the Axiom. Does anyone know how to store
the settings, though?
