Founded and directed by the legendary John Zorn, The Stone is a one-of-a-kind performance space that highlights and strengthens the relationship between musicians and listener. Booked purely on a curatorial basis, this week?s performances are being led by JD Parran and will feature Mark Deutsch, both solo and ensemble, on Bazantar and Persian Tar. Wednesday 7/2 @ 8 pm - Mark Deutsch, Solo Bazantar Back in NYC for the first time in almost 6 years Mark explores his latest tunings and sonorities on the Bazantar - a five-string acoustic bass fitted with an additional twenty-nine sympathetic strings and four drone strings. http://www.bazantar.com Thursday 7/3 @ 8 pm - JD Parran, Omegathorp: Living City Tom Buckner (vocals) Joe Kubera (piano) Mark Deutsch (Bazantar) JD Parran (alto clarinet, soprano saxophone, flutes).
